Presentations
PowerPoint presentations require
two different types of copy. One is the text of the speech
that the presenter will use, the other is what appears on the
screen. The speech part of the presentation must follow the
guidelines for a good manuscript speech. The on-screen part
must carry the message in single words or phrases coupled with
visuals to reinforce the spoken word. You don't put the
verbiage of the speech on the screen and you don't read the
words on the screen when delivering the speech. The spoken
words and the words on the screen must work together with the
visuals to provide a seamless presentation that leaves the
audience stimulated to do what
you ask them to do.
