Web Design
Creating a web presence is as
important today as was having a yellow page listing 20 years
ago. But unlike the listing or ad in the big book, the
Internet lets people find you faster, and it lets you showcase
your business, services and products in a personal,
interactive forum.
Personal is the key. For the most
part, your web site is viewed by one set of eyes at a time.
The person looking at it, just as you are doing now, probably
doesn't have anyone looking over his or her shoulder.
Therefore both writing and design must capture the interest of
the individual, and draw him or her to take action.
There are few rules here on the
world wide web, and designers are pushing against those rules
everyday. But in the end, it boils down to this.
-
What are your marketing
objectives? (mine, for instance, are to get you to phone me)
-
How can a website help you meet
those objectives?
-
What should it look like?
-
What should it say?
-
How are people going to find it?
-
How much will it cost?
-
How will you measure its
effectiveness?
